The time to act is now. We know that anti-abortion ideology is not only used to justify bans on abortion, it is also used to justify arrests, detentions and forced medical interventions on pregnant women who have no intention of ending a pregnancy.
Even with Roe on the books, NAPW has documented more than 1,600 cases where police, prosecutors, and judges misused their power to criminalize pregnancy or otherwise attempt to control women because of pregnancy and all of its possible outcomes – including pregnancy loss, birth, and abortion.
